Payton's 1-year-old smash cake session
A smash cake session is such a fun way to see a baby’s expressions from first seeing the cake, touching it, and then trying the first bite. In my experience, baby’s will either love it or hate it…both are so fun to capture.
Before I let the baby indulge in the cake and get all messy, I take photos of the baby first and then some with siblings and parents. Turning one is such a memorable milestone that I believe capturing it with family is just as important. :)
Payton just LOVED every minute of it. He is quite possibly one of the happiest babies I know! His big sister, Olivia just adores him too.
We started the session singing “Baby Shark” and got smiles right away for the sibling photo. :)
After we got all of desired the family photos, Payton changed into his smash cake outfit…

Work smarter, not harder for the cake :) Every time I look at this photo it cracks me up.
